Golden Globes
Rose might not attend the Golden Globes on Jan 13 due to the writers’ strike. The union confirmed it would not grant a waiver to the Golden Globes. “We are engaged in a crucial struggle that will protect our income and intellectual property rights for generations to come,” it said. “We will continue to do everything in our power to bring industry negotiations to a fair conclusion.”Actors union president Alan Rosenberg said celebrity nominees and presenters were unlikely to attend the ceremony. Mr Rosenberg said a meeting with Golden Globe nominees was scheduled for this week. So we should know later this week whether or not she’ll be attending. I really hope so!!! SourceActors who do turn up to the Beverly Hills Hilton will be forced to pass a picket line of hundreds of placard-waving writers and supporters, generating negative publicity for image-sensitive celebrities. The strike also places Byrne in a difficult position. The 28-year-old Sydneysider’s best supporting actress Golden Globe nomination for her new TV series, Damages, is a career highlight and the red carpet photos and a Globe win would rocket her to a new level in Hollywood.Byrne, because of her lesser stature in Hollywood, would be less resilient to criticism for passing a picket line and attending the Golden Globes. On a personal level it will probably be a tough decision for Byrne as her longtime boyfriend, Brendan Cowell, is a screenwriter and actor. Source’Adam’Recently, before Christmas, it is a possibility that Rose was involved with a short film project entitled Adam starring Hugh Dancy, Peter Gallagher, Amy Irving, and Frankie Faison. It’s a romantic film in which Adam has Aspergers Syndrome, a misunderstood and little known type of autism, which isn’t always physically evident in a person, yet prohibits them in many ways from making true human connections. No word yet on Rose’s part or a release date. Thank you to forum members shhimundercoverdamnit and Davna for the info!
