While Victoria lures filmmakers, Sydney – Australia’s supposed film capital – has been left licking its wounds, writes Kelly Burke. With brightly coloured parasols bobbing on a Bondi tram and the grimy streets and sweaty booze halls of Redfern, The Tender Hook has been described by its producers as an “iconic” Sydney period drama. Yet the film, which draws Rose Byrne and Hugo Weaving into the underbelly of 1920s Sydney, has been shot entirely in Melbourne. Full Article
