Geelong filming of Nicholas Cage movie delayed
GEELONG’S Hollywood star spotters will have to wait a bit longer for a spectacular plane crash scene to be shot on the Geelong ring road. Producers of the mega-budgeted Nicolas Cage vehicle Knowing have postponed the chaotic scene’s shoot, to be shot on the Corio stretch of the project. The shoot, which included 150 local extras playing everything from bewildered motorists, nosey journalists, paramedics and police, was set to kick off yesterday. But a film spokeswoman said the three day shoot had been put off until May 19 to 21. Geelong Advertiser

In two weeks, Rose will be handing out awards at Australian television award show the Logies.

THE countdown is on for TV’s night of nights, with the TV Week Logie Awards a mere fortnight away.

Most of the presenters have been locked in for the evening, but, while organisers have been happy to reveal a number of the stars who will hand out the gongs, no one will confirm who has been given the honour of presenting the Gold Logie.

Will it be TV great Bert Newton or three time gold winner Daryl Somers?

Or will organisers opt for a bit of glamour and get Rose Byrne who is in town filming Knowing alongside Nicolas Cage, to do the honours? Source

Rose will be in Corio April 28-30 on set for Knowing. They will continue shooting in Melbourne until the end of June. The director of Knowing is encouraging local residents to apply to be extras in the film, so if you live nearby, it’s your lucky day!

Casting will take place between 8am-6.30pm this Monday at Screen Actors Studio, 32-34 Lt Ryrie St. People hoping to score a role as one of the drivers need to supply details of their cars such as the make, model and registration. Source and More Info
