Rose’s Fashionable Evenings

Rose attended the Calvin Klein fashion show and after party at the Standard Grill at The Standard Hotel on 17 September.

“I met [Christian Cota] through my stylist Penny Lovell,” she explained. The actress has had a low key fashion week thanks to pre-work for her upcoming third season of “Damages” and a trip to the VMAs. But she will be hitting up Calvin Klein’s show and dinner Thursday night, before heading to L.A. She is nominated for an Emmy. “I’m deciding between three dresses,” said Byrne. “And this year I’m having a lot more fun with it.”

Q/A With Emmy Hopefuls

Rose: I was sent “Damages” and Glenn was already attached to it and it was clear that this was something I wanted to be a part of. I was also at an age — I was 26 or 27 at the time —where I wasn’t really the ingénue anymore but I wasn’t yet into my 30s where I was playing more mature roles. I’d also never done something that contemporary. I’d been in procedural things like “28 Weeks Later” or “Sunshine,” or things like “Troy” and “Marie Antoinette,” which were more period pieces. So I loved the fact that she was a contemporary young woman and I loved the fact that her boss was a female, and that dynamic and that relationship.
