CFDA Vogue Fashion Party, 15 October
Silicon Valley met Seventh Avenue on Wednesday night when Google’s Marissa Mayer, Diane von Furstenberg and Anna Wintour hosted cocktails to honor the 2009 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Finalists. Thanks to Sonya, we have a quote from Rose as well as another photo of her from the party!
“I actually Googled antiquated ways of searching,” says Ahluwalia of his process. “One of the things that came up was magnifying lenses.” Turns out googol [sic] is the word for the number that is one followed by 100 zeros, so he was careful to use 100 links and a golden number for the necklace’s closure. “The one’s hidden behind her hair,” he says. “It’s such a great initiative for designers,” says Byrne, who went to last year’s CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award ceremony with Calvin Klein’s Francisco Costa. “It was a real honor. I was a kid in a candy store.” Source
